Default A count to know the number of players in PvP formats

Hello... I think everyone knows that there are very long waiting times at some hours in PvP , especially on american and euro mornings....
My idea would be to have a count that indicates :
- the number of players among all districts ( so basically you don't have to search)
- the number of players in.. It's nice to know for HA,GvG, or other formats if you can afford waiting or if you're just going to wait hours and never get anywhere
- the number of players in opposing district for JQ/FA and AB especially , for the same reasons than above...

I think implementing this would save many people's time and not be like " gah , i had 1 hour to play , i waited 40mn and i didn't get anything "...
Waiting your comments

I imagine something like this would be extremely difficult to implement if not impossible although i do like the idea.

Before AT's there is a list of guilds waiting to enter matches, maybe they could implement some kind of ladder list, and it could show all the guilds currently playing each other, and show all guilds awaiting worthy opponent. Guilds yet to press "enter battle" do not appear in the list.

I don't think something like this would be necessary, because it doesn't improve your gaming experience. If you know that there won't be many players in the morning hours, just don't play specific formats most influcenced by a low player population. I'd like to know how many people are actually playing the game at any given time, though.

from a non pvp point of view - all pvp is governed by several factors but the main few are
- time of day ( not every player is usa time )
- is there an event on or zcombat.
Trying to setup a count where you can see how many is on each side could be bad as i know from what players tell me is that at times in say ab kurz players will go on lux side and vice versa to try and get numbers sort of balanced.
I also think a large chunk of euro players have sussed its easier to play in usa dists rather than euro dists ( dunno if that makes any difference these days ) - why play in your time zones if its going to be empty and usa dists/timezone usually have way more players.

I have to lol at the comment by op about waiting 40 mins - ive known players to switch sides just to play and even then the other side was just as empty.
Euro players are usually around say 8 hrs ahead of usa and taking into account maybe 1/2 those players are 13 - 18 yrs old and probably at school then 8am till 4pm gmt ( midnight usa till 8am usa ) they wont be on unless its exams or hols.
Only suggestion i can say is scrap the districts in pvp and just have 1 type which will spawn a new dist when full - that way you will see exactly how many is on your side and maybe if u switch you can see the other side as well.
thats my non pvp outlook on it

That's the problem : there isn't any format playable other than RA on those hours...( excluding zquest , and even , thats not changing stuff a lot on those hours....).. So basically , most players on those hours who're bored of PvE are just going on playing an other game....

You know , HA today is about the first to log on at 4am in order to farm 1v1 halls against the 2 same teams during the next 4 hours.... Codex and AB are empty... JQ/FA are the only 2 playable on quest day...

A few HA'ers or GvG'ers would probably not just stand stupidly for 1 hour if they knew there is noone else in... Oppositely , a few players might form a fast team to get an opponent if they see one ...
Same goes for AB....

I'd love something like this for GvG and AB. Few people want to sit around for a half hour waiting for a match that will never come. The downside to this however is that somebody will have to be the first person to sit down and wait, otherwise the ball never gets rolling and more people won't be willing enter battle. While this suggestion would be excellent for encouraging more activity during Euro hours, it could backfire during American/Asian hours because everyone can see that nobody is playing, therefore they are less inclined to take the chance that another guild will log on and enter in the next 20 or so minutes.

There's a certain paradox about justifying time spent on features that benefit such a small portion of the population, that there aren't even enough of them to play the game. But then that's probably the paradox of most of GW's life.
